Behind 1111… Developers Dan Baker and Mynders Glover

The project 1111 Camino is the much-anticipated redevelopment of the aging commercial property along the Animas River at the physical address 1111 Camino del Rio. Dan Baker and Mynders Glover are the two visionaries behind what it will soon become: Durango’s only Downtown riverfront mixed-use development.

Recognized locally and statewide for Copperhead Camp in Edgemont Highlands, Dan and Mynders have approached their new effort with the same conscientiousness and stewardship that earned Copperhead Camp the 2005 Colorado Built-Green “Project of the Year.” They embarked on the adventure in 2006, with the objective to design a project that sets a precedent for transforming Camino del Rio’s industrial and utilitarian character into one that reincorporates one of Durango’s jewels – the Animas River – into the Historic Downtown and the community.

Dan Baker

Dan is perhaps most readily known as the principal of Four Corners Construction. A Colorado native and graduate of University of Colorado, Boulder, Dan has amassed more than 35 years experience in design, construction and real estate sales and development.

His concern for community brought him to Habitat for Humanity where he served as the general contractor for the non-profit’s first home in Durango. Since that time, he has overseen a wide variety of projects, ranging from custom solar homes to diverse commercial efforts such as restaurants and banks – even portions of the US Olympic Training Center. He creates only that in which he believes, and follows through with the highest quality and best effort possible to realize the vision.

Mynders Glover

Originally from New Orleans, Mynders has lived in the Durango area since 1999. He earned his undergraduate degree from Virginia’s Washington and Lee University and MBA from the University of Virginia. An entrepreneur and former certified public accountant, he founded business, management and financial companies before moving into real estate development.

Concerned with Durango’s enhancement and affordable housing solutions, Mynders chairs the Regional Housing Alliance’s development committee and is past president of the Durango Home-Based Business Association (DAHBA).

With the new project, Dan and Mynders look forward to furthering the efforts of the Downtown Durango Vision and Strategic Plan. The project will include construction of a new portion of the river trail, with public access, and a café with outdoor seating, plus additional commercial amenities - in addition to the 24 river front and 13 urban/mountain view residential units.
